Will Online Gambling Survive?

For as long as I can remember there have been online casinos. Some were always on the up and up, some were quite shady. But they were always there. Online poker really didn't take off until the World Series Off Poker and a nice guy names Chris Moneymaker.

Being the geek I am, and loving the action poker (and cards in general) give me I enjoy hitting a few of the free online casinos here and there. I was never a big pay-to-play kind of guy but I liked the free money rolls.

Now days it doesn't have the cache it use to but I still play a few of the online poker sites. But I don't think anything will get my geek blood flowing like the late night trying to hit an open spot on the tournaments like PokerRoom and FulTilt have/had.

These days the government is looking to close down all online gambling sites real time gaming casinos and webmoney casinos. Just a few short months ago the founders of Pokerstars, Full Tilt Poker and Absolute Poker were among 11 people charged with offenses including bank fraud, money laundering and illegal gambling.

So you have to ask will there be a place for online gaming in the future?

I'm not sure anyone can say for certain, however there are several state looking to legalize online gambling. Will it actually happen? Who knows! It might end up being an issue like legal marijuana. Whereas some states have it, outside of federal law, and some don't.

I for one hope they let it happen. I like to get my card-geek fix on once in awhile even if I do lose more often than I win!!
