Rumor HD and CDMA iPhones Coming This Summer

The Wall Street Journal has been reporting that two new iPhones may be in the works for the coming months. One is reportedly going to be a High Definition version while the other is said to work with Verizon's CDMA network. Both AT&T and Verizon has declined to comment on the speculation at this time however the timing does seem likely as Apple has released a new iPhone model every summer for the past three years and is widely expected to do so again this summer.

While the WSJ story makes no mention of an HD iPhone Engadget has been spreading speculation that the next generation iPhone will be named the “iPhone HD.” They are also speculation that the new model will have an A4-class SoC, a 960 x 640 display, a front-facing camera, and that iPhone OS 4.0 will enable third-party multitasking.

The best guess as to a release time has Apple unveiling the next generation iPhone and iPhone OS 4.0 on Tuesday, June 22, 2010.
