Apple’s One Billionth App Winner Announced

Connor Mulcahey, age 13, of Weston, CT has been announced as the winner of Apple’s one billion app countdown contest, Connor will receive a $10,000 iTunes gift card, an iPod touch, a Time Capsule and a MacBook Pro for downloading the 1 Billionth App from the App Store.

The winning one billionth app downloaded by Mulcahey was Bump created by Bump Technologies, fittingly a free application.

Bump is simple but useful application for sharing contact information. Enter your phone number, address, e-mail address, and photo, and you'll be able to beam any or all of that information to another iPhone or iPod Touch user who also has the app installed with a simple fist-bump greeting gesture. Contact information gets swapped over an encrypted internet connection, not Bluetooth or an ad-hoc WiFi connection.
