Google Says Happy 10th Birthday To Blogger

This week officially marks Bloggers 10th birthday and to commemorate the occasion Google has announced they will be releasing birthday presents for the millions of users who have made Blogger what it is today.

Unfortunately these aren't actual presents, they are add-ons to the blogger platform, but hey we'll take what we can get. So far Google has released 5 presents and today they announced 2 more, courtesy of two Blogger partners:
  • Socialvibe: Blogger users can show their support for charities and raise funds by adding a Socialvibe gadget to their blog. The Socialvibe team has challenged Google and Blogger users to raise $50,000 for charity by the end of the year.
  • InfoThinker: If you have an iPhone or iPod Touch and a Blogger blog, you're in luck. The team at InfoThinker (makers of the iPhone app BlogPress) submitted a free version of BlogPress that works only on Blogger to the iPhone App Store. Blogging on the go has never been so easy! Keep an eye out for the app.
Here is the full list of presents that Google has implemented. The list should grow over the next couple weeks as the company adds more and more add-ons. The company promises that, "over the next several weeks we will be releasing a number of new features on Blogger." Some of the presents are being implemented because of the "Product Ideas for Blogger" program. Others are items that "meant a lot to us", with some, such as the Socialvibe add-on coming are because Google's friends (both inside and outside of Google) wanted to chip in and give Blogger users a little something extra.
