Palm Introduces The New Palm Pixi

Palm has introduced a smaller, cheaper handset, webOS-based handset called the "Pixi," due to arrive at Sprint in time for holidays buyers. The new handset has a smaller touch screen than the Pre, an exposed QWERTY keyboard, and a two-megapixel camera.

"With Palm webOS, we're creating a new, more intuitive smartphone experience defined by unmatched simplicity and usefulness," said Jon Rubinstein, Palm chairman and chief executive officer. "Palm Pixi brings this unique experience to a broader range of people who want enhanced messaging and social networking in a design that lets them express their personal style."

Along side the launch of the new phone Palm is introducing the Pixi Artist Series, a selection of limited-edition back covers in a range of eye-catching designs.
