Fellow Tech Blogger Michael Arrington Calls It Quits

Personal security issues cause fellow tech blogger Michael Arrington to take a leave of absence from TechCrunch. The move follows a recent incident in which an unidentified individual at the DLD Conference in Munich, Germany walked up spat Arrington's face.

"In the past I’ve been grabbed, pulled, shoved and otherwise abused at events, but never spat on. I think this is where I’m going to draw a line," said Arrington in his post.

Personally I give Michael my respects for putting up with even that. With the level of success TechCrunch has reached I probably would have backed away a little sooner. I've dealt with personal attacks in the past and can tell you first hand that personal security is a major concern and will really take a toll on you.

Fortunately I haven't reached the "limelight" status as a blogger yet so I don't have to face these issues yet. I'd like to wish Michael all the best in his future endeavors, hopefully he gets to enjoy that beach somewhere far away from his iPhone and laptop.
