Red Herring Global 2008 Awards Announced

The Red Herring Global 100 awards are given to the top 100 tech startups from around the world. This years event was held January 16th in San Diego and featured more than 1,800 of the top Tech companies worldwide.

The Red Herring editorial team reviews thousands of privately held companies meticulously narrowing their list down to 1200 of the top companies from Europe, North America, and Asia. Deploying a detailed process Red Herring then drills-down that list to of the best companies, first to 200 finalists, then to the top 100 winners.

Past award winners include prestigious names such as Google, Yahoo!, Skype, Netscape, Salesforce.com, and YouTube. This years Red Herring Global 2008 Winners list features several great up and coming companies you might or might not have heard of. Here are a few of the companies I've had a chance to look at and suggest checking out:


There are undoubtedly more great companies on the list, and even more still on the finalists list. I've only had the time to check through a few at random. Please feel free to share your feedback on any companies or services you find.
