Garmin GPS Now Offers In-Store Trade-In Program

Trade-in programs are all the rage these days and it seems like everyone has one for almost everything out there. Well now there is one more kid on the trade-in block. Garmin GPS has announced a new in-store trade-in program that is launching exclusively at the Garmin Chicago Store.

With the new program owners of qualifying automotive or fitness GPS units can trade-in their used equipment for credit toward the purchase of a new device. Garmin customers can call the store today for more information or visit the Chicago Store online to see if you have a qualifying automotive or fitness unit.

As with most these trade-in programs the trade-in value isn't much compared to selling it yourself, however it does take some of the hassle out of selling the items yourself. A qualifying automotive trade-in will land you a $35 credit toward a new purchase, and a qualifying fitness trade-in will get you $25 toward a new purchase.

Note that not all Garmin product model types are eligible for the trade-in program. Even if a particular model is eligible, a particular unit will only be accepted for trade-in if it is functional, unaltered, and has no screen damage. Other restrictions apply. ReCellular Launches New Cell Phone Trade-in Program

Mobile phone recyclers ReCellular has launched what they are calling a comprehensive easy to use trade-in program for both consumers and phone retailers.

Consumers can visit SecureTradeIn.com and follow a few basic instructions provided. Once they have found their phone and trade-in value they then Fed-Ex their phones, via free shipping, off to ReCellular who promises guaranteed data protection.

Once they have the phone they then match it to your information and verify that it works, yes to get cash for your phones they must be in working order, they'll then mail you a check.

The company guarantee's a 0% waste policy which they says means that they will never contribute to any landfill.

ReCellular has built a network of nearly 1,100 collection partners, representing nearly 40,000 collection sites across the nation which collects nearly 5million phones per year. These partners include:

• Wireless carriers such as AT&T Mobility and Sprint, and retailers such as Best Buy and Wal-Mart, partner with ReCellular to facilitate recycling programs for their customers.
• Individual businesses partner with ReCellular to dispose of their corporate communications equipment.
• Grassroots and charitable organizations such as Cell Phones for Soldiers partner with ReCellular to operate donate-a-phone fund-raising programs.

Buyback programs turn electronic trash to cash

Leave it to the gadget industry to turn concern over electronic waste into a sales opportunity. Simply put, they're offering to buy back old devices to recycle or resell, in return for cash or in-store credit.

Coming to consumer electronic retailers nationwide this spring is the ecoNEW program from NEW Customer Service Cos., the company that provides extended warranty plans and protection programs for such retailers as Best Buy and Wal-Mart.

Under the program, consumers can return any electronics products they own to participating retailers (which have not yet been announced) -- even if they weren't purchased at the store. In return they'll receive an in-store credit gift card for a predetermined amount based on the type and condition of the device. EcoNEW handles all the collection and evaluation details and issues the gift cards directly.
